Our Beliefs and Commitments

‘Knowledge is based on experience. Everything else is just information.’

As Destination Managers we rely on our knowledge of the locale and our collective experience to make travel a meaningful and inclusive experience contributing to social, economic & ecological causes. That is why sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility are at the core of our value system.

In 2020, Distant Frontiers took a pledge  and signed the Sustainable Action Plan to take full cognizance of current and future economic, social and environmental impacts of our business, addressing the needs of our guests and without compromising on the quality of delivery. It was a promise to spread awareness, educate and train all stakeholders associated with the organisation.

We are also members of governing council of the Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI). To align with the global sustainability efforts, the company joined the Beat Plastic Pollution drive by banning plastic in the form of water bottles in the organisation.

We are certified by Tour Cert, a private German, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization which awards tourism businesses on basis of their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility principles.

We are also signatories to The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism. The Code is an instrument of self -regulation and corporate social responsibility that provides increased protection to children from sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.

In 2020, we also became signatory to the The ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles’ – A UN Women Initiative. The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a primary vehicle for corporate delivery on gender equality dimensions of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
